🇮🇹 Venice, Italy
Venice is built on 118 islands linked by 400 bridges, with no cars or ordinary streets. St Mark's Square, the Grand Canal, Rialto Bridge, Carnival and the Art Biennale make it a culturally exceptional destination.
📅 Best time to visit
April–June and September–November: fewer crowds and lower prices. Carnival (February) unmissable but very crowded. July–August very hot and overcrowded.
🌤 Climate
Humid subtropical climate: hot, muggy summers (28–33°C) and cool winters (0–8°C). Acqua alta most frequent in autumn–winter.
🏨 Where to stay
San Marco is the tourist heart: expensive but very convenient. Dorsoduro is quieter and more authentic. Cannaregio is the most lived-in neighbourhood.
